SOLUTIONS TO THE WATER CRISIS IN NM…UNM Continuing Ed Series
Yvette Tovar, Executive Director of The New Mexico Water Collaborative will present a lecture focusing on understanding the water crisis in New Mexico and the solutions that we can implement as a community. All communities have a responsibility to use water efficiently. We depend on this finite natural resource, and culturally believe that we all have a right to its access. We also know that we are consuming water at a rate that is not sustainable. The path to solutions lies in conservation and reclamation measures that can be implemented by all community members, regardless of where you live in the state. Issues of intercultural dialogue will be also be presented in the context of the traditional Pueblo and Hispano communities within our state. How do our different cultural views of water affect our ability to come together as a larger community when focusing on solutions to the water crisis?
